Great news for fans of Céline Dion, as she announces a six week European tour this summer, with a stop at the Allianz Riviera in Nice on the 20th of July.

According to the five-time Grammy winner herself, these new shows should be a real trip down memory lane, with plenty of smash hits from the artist’s 35-year career in music. Expect to hear favourites like The Power Of Love, All By Myself, Because You Loved Me, That’s The Way It Is, as well as of course the unforgettable love theme from Titanic, My Heart Will Go On.

She will also perform songs from her latest album, Encore Un Soir (Another Night) – her first in French in four years -, which has been certified Diamond with over 500,000 units sold in France, as well as some tracks from her upcoming and yet untitled record in English, that will include a track called Recovering, written by American singer-songwriter Pink.

At 48, the Canadian singer remains a force to be reckoned with on the music scene, despite the death of her longtime manager and husband, René Angélil, just a little over a year ago. Known for her powerful voice and heavily influenced by R&B, gospel, and classical genres, Celine Dion has sold more than 220 million albums worldwide since 1981. She is, after Madonna, the second-highest earning musician in history, and is showing no sign of slowing down. In a video posted to Instagram, she proudly proclaimed in both French and English, “I cannot wait to have a great time, so I hope you’re ready!”

Some things never seem to go out of fashion and while decades may pass, Depeche Mode’s career is showing no signs of slowing down.

2017 is indeed going to be a busy year for Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andy Fletcher, who are not only planning to release a new record in the spring, Spirit (their 14th studio album), but also to embark on an European tour from May to July to support said album.

Definitely great news for both lifelong fans and new aficionados on the French Riviera, who will have a chance to see the UK band live when they stop at the Stade Charles Ehrmann in Nice on the 12th of May.

While we can expect to hear such classic hits as “People Are People”,Master and Servant”,Enjoy the Silence”, and “Personal Jesus”, the synthpop heavyweights will also be playing songs from their new offering, which is being produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco (Foal, Artic Monkeys) and reportedly features additional programming from techno star, Matrixxman.

It will be a follow-up to their 2013’s Delta Machine, which was produced by Ben Hillier, and to their upcoming Video Singles Collection, a career-spanning anthology of music videos and comments that is due next month. Not bad for a band that has been around since 1980!

Famous for their dark, electro sound that propelled them to global success, Depeche Mode is still one of the most influential groups in the world today, having sold more than 100 million records over the years. They have even been hailed as “the most popular electronic band the world has ever known” by Q magazine, and as “one of the greatest British pop groups of all time” by the Sunday Telegraph.

With this exciting event, the upcoming musical season in Nice is definitely off to a great start!

Depeche Mode plays the Stade Charles Ehrmann in Nice on Friday, 12th of May 2017 at 7:45pm. Tickets go on sale on the 14th of October and range in price from 62 € to 89.50 € and can be purchased through all the usual outlets or booked online.

MAROON 5 BRINGS ITS EUROPEAN TOUR TO NICE

Maroon 5

Nice can now unofficially claim the title of French musical capital as Maroon 5 announce their only tour date in France there this summer.

Following in the footsteps of Coldplay, multi platinum-selling and Grammy Award®-winning rock band Maroon 5 will play only one date in France this summer — and Nice is the venue of choice. The « Sugar » gents will be at the Espace Nikaia on the 29th of May…just 5 days after Coldplay’s appearance at the Stade Charles Ehrmann. What a treat for local music fans!

Maroon 5’s upcoming and much anticipated European tour will come in support of the highly successful “V” and their new Greatest Hits album ‘Singles’ which was released last September but also probably of their 6th studio album, which they are putting together at the moment and should be released this year.

Not much is know of this new effort save for the fact that it has been called a ‘back to roots’ style album and that eight songs have already been recorded. But new album or not, there is no doubt that Maroon 5 is one of the biggest rock act of the moment.

With their hybrid sound of pop, rock and R & B, the band has won fans around the world as soon as they introduced their debut single, “Harder to Breathe” in 2002 from the acclaimed album “Songs About Jane”.

Since then, they have nabbed 3 Grammys, recorded duets with the likes of Rihanna and Christina Aguilera, sold more than 17 million copies of their albums in over 35 countries and toured extensively around the globe. And of course, female fans will probably add that frontman Adam Levine, who is one of the judges on the US version of The Voice, was crowned sexiest man alive in 2013.

Maroon 5 plays the Espace Nikaïa in Nice on Sunday, 29th of May 2016 at 8:00 pm. Tickets range in price from 73 € to 78.50 € and can be purchased through all the usual outlets or booked online.
